What do I do if my text didn't come out the way I planned?

There are a few possibilities for this. You may first want to go back and take a look at Help:Editing and see if you are doing exactly what you thought you are doing.

If you you are having problems with templates, you may want to look at some of the characters being fed as arguments. '{}=|' are 4 characters are generally problematic to templates. If that is the case, try replacing them with their HTML character codes. To save you some time, here are these 4. Below is a link to a full table of those codes.
