EnGarde Secure Community 3.0.22 Release Notes
Guardian Digital is happy to announce the release of EnGarde Secure Community 3.0.22 (Version 3.0, Release 22). This release includes many updated packages and bug fixes and some feature enhancements to Guardian Digital WebTool and the SELinux policy.
In distribution since 2001, EnGarde Secure Community was one of the very first security platforms developed entirely from open source, and has been engineered from the ground-up to provide users and organizations with complete, secure Web functionality, DNS, database, e-mail security and even e-commerce.
The following reported bugs from bugs.engardelinux.org are fixed in this release:
- #0000200 Boot State for added service always "Disabled"
- #0000203 Kernel Panic - engarde secure linux 3.0.20....
- #0000206 Xen Guest support
- #0000207 Dell megaraid_sas Driver not being loaded
- #0000208 Request XEN support for linux engarge
- #0000210 Cannot install 'spamassassin' without installing amavisd-new
Several other bugs are fixed in this release as well.
New features include:
- Several improvements to the Backup and Restore module in WebTool. We've added a help page, made several improvements to the layout of the module to make it easier to use, and enhanced the "Perform Backup Now" functionality by running it in the background and sending an email upon completion.
- Support for USB serial devices, such as Keyspan USB serial adapters.
- The latest stable versions of ImageMagick (6.4.5), asterisk (1.4.22), autoconf (2.63), automake (1.10.1), bacula (2.4.3), bind (9.4.3), clamav (0.94.1), coreutils (6.12), curl (7.19.2), dovecot (1.1.6), drbd (8.2.7), engarde-policy (3.22), fetchmail (6.3.9), iptables (1.4.2), kernel (2.6.27), m4 (1.4.12), memtest86+ (2.10), nagios (3.0.5), net-snmp (5.4.2.1), openldap (2.4.12), openswan (2.6.18), squid (3.0.STABLE10), sudo (1.6.9p18), syslog-ng (2.1.2), webtool (3.22), and xl2tpd (1.2.3).
All new users downloading EnGarde Secure Linux for the first time or users who use the LiveCD environment should download this release.
Users who are currently using EnGarde Secure Linux do not need to download this release -- they can update their machines via the Guardian Digital Secure Network WebTool module.
