EnGarde Secure Linux consists of two major "branches" -- Community and Professional. Development is performed on the Community branch and, once it's stable and tested, it becomes the Professional branch.

The diagram below summarizes this process.

How do you determine what's in the next release?

As the community grows larger and there are more people getting involved, a more specialized Roadmap must be created so that everyone can stay on the same path towards developing the best EnGarde Secure Linux possible. What follows is an informal outline of general things that are to be accomplished by the next release of EnGarde Secure Linux.

General Outline

The general roadmap for an EnGarde Secure Linux point release is the following:

  • Package updates
  • Bug fixes
  • Adding new functionality (to include but not limited to):
    • Foreign Language Translations
    • WebTool functionality
    • New packages
    • New SELinux policy or policy updates

Contributions

This is where the contributions of the EnGarde Secure Linux community would be most valuable. If you have any questions on how to contribute, then contact the Developers.

  • Bug fixes (using the EnGarde Bug Tracking System)
  • Adding/Updating EnGarde Packages
  • Foreign Language Translations
    • Updates to existing translations
    • Creating new translations
